Strange as it may seem the original event of the Big Twin gatherings back in 1983consisted of a collection of classic cars. A group of bikers gathered who gathered at the event took advantage of the fact that they were all together in one place to begin planning a Harley-Davidson gathering the following year. In 1984, 20 motorbikes gathered at a campsite in Oropesa del Mar (Castellón), and so began the Big Twin gatherings. In 1985, the number of motorbikes involved doubled, with 40 of them attending the event, and popularity has steadily grown over the years. In 1988, the annual gathering moved from its original location to Pinar del Grao de Castellón. There was incredible response with 500 motorbikes attending. HDC Crazy Brothers Spain was responsible for the managing of the gatherings until 1991, when for various reasons HCD Crazy Brothers Spain was dissolved. The management of the 1992 gathering was taken over the current Big Twin Spain. That year confirmed that the spirit of the biker community was still alive, although the number of attendees was slightly lower than in previous years. Just one year later, in 1993, the Big Twin Spain gathering emerges as a noted event on the biker’s calendar, gathering support from local councils and the Valencian Government. Castellón feels proud to host the event each summer in El Pinar. In 1994, the Club had almost been doomed to disappear, but a fresh new team became involved in the management with a new strategy that continues today. This year saw 1500 people attending and 900 Harleys roaring, this moment is made more incredible considering that in Castellon there are only 12 registered Harleys. Concentration has become international. There are many great memories we will treasure such as the visit of Bill Davidson, owner of Harley Davidson, in 1995, the impressive concert offered by Deep Purple in honour to the Club 25th anniversary, as well as many more to come … We hope to see you in the next Big Twin gathering!!
